Make a personal commitment starting today to make exercise a part of your daily routine. The amount of time isn't as important as the commitment. Once it becomes routine, slowly add extra minutes to it until it feels normal.

Don't move too quickly. Getting started is half the battle. Success takes time, and weight loss is no different. Take it one day at a time, keep moving forward, set goals, and once you have accomplished one add a new challenge to keep things interesting.

Find something that fits you. If you dislike the big social scene, them committing to a large fitness club filled with numerous people will not work for you. Perhaps you prefer activities you can do alone such as dancing, jogging... Determine what satisfies your personality. This will help you achieve your long term goals and get going.


Remember to balance things. If you have a family or additional commitments then a balance must be set to achieve success. Everything cannot be finished at once, so determine what can be set to the side for a brief time while you give your body some attention.

Praise yourself daily. It doesn't matter what steps you have taken on a daily basis as long as you have taken some headed in the right direction. Nothing will occur overnight, but remember to acknowledge what you have done by allowing simple rewards. Perhaps a new book, massage, pedicure. Think of a little something that will put a smile on your face, and get it. Taking baby steps will eventually lead to hitting a major homerun.
